Crimsonbridge partner iMentor CEO, Dr. Heather Wathington spoke about the power of mentoring and connection for today’s students in an April podcast episode of “Ending Domestic Abuse” with Dr. Ludy Green. Dr. Wathington reflected on her career in education, how she has seen mentorship transform the lives of iMentor students, and the importance of making – and keeping – connections to strengthen access to opportunities in the future. For organizations designing programming and support services for postsecondary students, iMentor has prioritized and embedded mentoring as a protective factor for students as they pursue their educational goals after high school.
“The organization has been able to take the power of an individual relationship just one mentor and one mentee and scale it. Since 1999, iMentor has created 42,000 mentoring relationships. That’s 42,000 relationships in New York City, Chicago, Baltimore, the Bay Area, Texas, Utah, Central New Mexico, all across the country.” – Dr. Heather Wathington
Crimsonbridge partnered with iMentor in 2024 to expand the their technology platform and mentor-mentee training, helping the organization incorporate a focus on postsecondary education in addition to high school.
