LAUDATO SI' INITIATIVE

THE LAUDATO SI' INITIATIVE

Walking with the Church in Care for Our Common Home

Inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’ and Pope Leo XIV’s call to care for creation, the Laudato Si’ Initiative seeks to accompany the Catholic Church in building a more sustainable future—one that protects creation, integrates environmentally sustainable solutions and frees resources for mission, uplifts communities, and strengthens the mission of the Church for generations to come.

The Crimsonbridge Foundation’s affiliate, Crimsonbridge Group, launched the Laudato Si’ Initiative in 2025.

The initiative aims to build a collaborative effort to help incorporate integral ecology and environmental sustainability into the life and operations of Catholic ministries and organizations in the United States.

COLLABORATIONS

The Laudato Si’ Initiative brings together trusted partners united in mission to support environmental sustainability work within the U.S. Catholic Church. It is shaping a framework rooted in collaboration, guided by respect, and aligned with the Church’s call to stewardship and care for creation.

At its core, this effort reflects a commitment to walk alongside Catholic leaders and organizations, honoring local discernment and priorities while grounding every step in faith and the values of the Gospel. By fostering relationships and building capacity, the initiative seeks to strengthen both the Church’s mission and its witness to care for our common home.

The Initiative includes:

  • Collaboration with FADICA - Catholic Philanthropy Network, Laudato Si' Working Group, to cultivate partnerships, convene donors, and support collaboration between Catholic leaders, organizations, and philanthropists.

  • Catholic Energies Service Platform (CESP): Developed by Catholic Climate Covenant and partners, this platform will provide guidance for Catholic organizations and ministries to assess and discern their environmental sustainability needs and goals, along with practical recommendations and pathways for funding and implementation.

The Laudato Si’ Initiative is about walking together with the Church to build a more sustainable future—one that protects creation, uplifts communities, and strengthens the mission of the Church. It is about building bridges of faith, stewardship, and sustainability for rising generations and our common home.”

Building bridges of faith, stewardship, and sustainability for rising generations.

In partnerships with FADICA Catholic Philanthropy Network Laudato Si' Working Group, Catholic Climate Covenant, Catholic Energies Service Platform, and other key partners, we are working together to provide trusted frameworks and practical tools to help ministries and organizations discern their environmental goals, advance sustainability, free resources for mission, and witness to Pope Francis and Pope Leo XIV’s call to care for creation and steward resources responsibly. Ultimately, we aspire to build bridges of faith, stewardship, and sustainability for rising generations and our common home.
