DMV Collaborative Is Answering the Call for Help With Careers

The Talent for Tomorrow Alliance hosted their second annual Multiplying Potential luncheon this winter, highlighting a panel of experts on youth development, workforce readiness, and education across the DC, Maryland, and northern Virginia area. The Alliance is a collaborative that combines the unique programming and staff capacity of Year Up, Per Scholas, New Futures, Spark the Journey, and Genesys Works into one customized program for students in the DMV. Formed five years ago, students are able to access a special blend of virtual and in-person learning that prepares students for their chosen career path, gives them relevant certifications and mentoring, and connects students to the job or internship they want. Senior program officer Robyn Ellis loved to see how this collaborative is partnering with institutions of higher education in the region, further simplifying the process of getting a degree or certificate or going back to school.
