Women are the backbone of many societies. They raise families, drive businesses, and commit themselves wholeheartedly to their communities. When women are in positions of power, economies and societies thrive. When women achieve representation, they exert positive influence and build power that combats structural barriers. Programs that support the leadership of women and girls are critical to our community flourishing.

At the Crimsonbridge Foundation, we are committed to building the power of women and girls and increasing their representation in leadership positions to engender systemic change. While we apply this lens to all of our grantmaking, we recognize that dedicated support is needed to help women and girls dream big and realize their full potential as leaders. This is why Crimsonbridge allies with community partners that promote civic engagement, leadership development, and the empowerment of women and girls. Our community partners ensure women and girls have the tools, confidence, and courage they need to transform society.

Community partners include local and national organizations dedicated to cultivating leadership in women and girls. Our partners include: Girls on the Run of Montgomery County, Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital, Washington School for Girls, Washington Area Women's Foundation, She Should Run, and the Institute for Women's Policy Research.

“It is time for the philanthropic sector to steer away from investments oblivious to the dynamics of gender, race, and other identities young women have and acknowledge such attributes as strengths and assets. Without acknowledging the multifaceted reality of young women’s lives, our grantmaking will continue to perpetuate and exacerbate disadvantages for young women, girls, and gender-expansive youth of color.”
